Blog Posts About Germany
Due to the current situation, I’ve been traveling a lot in Germany.
This is why I created an own section for my blog posts about trips in Germany:
Hiking in the Odenwald – Discover Your Home And Have Fun in the Outdoors
The Odenwald is so close to my home town Frankfurt, but apart from a single excursion with my primary school class – about 25 years ago – I have never really made it to this area in the past. Now I'm changing that, because of the new situation with Corona I want to...
The Felsenmeer – The Sea of Rocks in the Odenwald
I was about 10 years old when I went on a school trip to the Felsenmeer (German for sea of rocks) in the Odenwald. It was the first and only time I saw this place. I remember how fascinated I was climbing over the rocks, even though at the same time I did not...
The Staufen in the Taunus – A Hike, a Castle Site, And an Oath
The Staufen in the Taunus has always been familiar to me. Sure: It is only about an hour walk from the place where I grew up. But as is so often the case, I have explored many destinations around the world. Only my home country I never knew very well. But in these...
Mannheim in Winter – This is What You Can Do!
At the end of November, I was in Mannheim for two days. I already knew the city from other short visits, as it is also not far from my hometown Kelkheim near Frankfurt. So I have met friends here from time to time or even went dancing. Now I should experience Mannheim...
Leonardo Royal Hotel Mannheim – Two nights in the square city
In December, I wanted to go to the Night of the Proms with my family. Since we couldn't get any tickets for the concert in Frankfurt, we decided to buy tickets for Mannheim and combine it with a weekend in the city of squares and stayed for two nights at the LEONARDO...
The Vienna House Easy Berlin
This year, I went for the fourth time to ITB – the International Tourism Fair & Exhibition in Berlin. After testing the Vienna House Andel's Berlin last year, it was now its little sister's turn – the Vienna House Easy. I came directly from an event in Sweden to...

Barbara Riedel
Glad you’re here!
My name is Barbara and I am a blogger, author and photographer. On my blog Barbaralicious, I try to combine my passions for traveling and writing. I got the travel bug back in 2014 and since then I live and work as a so-called digital nomad. Most of the time I travel to warm countries and I spend my days outdoors as much as possible when I am not sitting at my laptop writing a new blog post or book or editing photos: hiking to a waterfall or just saying goodbye to the sun when it sets over the water. This is part of a perfect day for me. I love learning new languages and discovering foreign countries and cultures.
